Coastal Cleanup Day

On Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 9am to noon the City of Torrance will host the annual Coastal Cleanup Day, in partnership with American Honda, the Torrance Chamber of Commerce, and in conjunction with Heal the Bay and the California Coastal Commission. Coastal Cleanup Day is the largest volunteer day in the world and it raises environmental awareness within the community to the detrimental effects of trash and marine debris on the environment.

The Torrance Beach event will feature special guests, a kid’s activity corner, several giveaways, and a plastic bag exchange. Also, students can receive community service hours for school! Please bring an unwrapped gift for the children in need. Many other sites throughout L.A. could use your volunteer efforts and Heal the Bay is proud to host over fifty cleanup sites from Malibu to Pasadena, so it’s easy to participate even if you don’t live in the South Bay or near the beach.

To register or to get more information regarding additional cleanup sites throughout Los Angeles, please visit the Heal the Bay Coastal Cleanup event page.
