The Fourth of July in the South Bay

We are celebrating our 239th birthday this weekend. Where to see the fireworks.

Stubhub Center in Carson 6-10 p.m. July 4  , Field 7, with food, vendors, a kiddie carnival, nonstop entertainment and raffle prizes. Continuous shuttle service will be offered from the Juanita Millender McDonald Carson Community Center, 801 E. Carson St. Admission is free.

El Segundo’s annual Fourth of July celebration kicks off at 10 a.m. July 4 at Recreation Park, 401 E. Sheldon St. Food, games, contests and music will be featured. Daytime events, including a hula hoop contest, water balloon toss, pie- and watermelon-eating contests, will go until 3 p.m. Evening events will be from 5-9 p.m. The fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. Wristbands ($5) for Stevenson Field grandstand seats and resident priority seating will be available starting at 4:45 p.m. 310-524-2700

Gardena will celebrate with fireworks and food trucks starting at 4 p.m. July 4 at Rowley Park, 13220 S. Van Ness Ave.  Fireworks begin at dusk.  310-217-9537

Marina del Rey  in the Main Channel at 9 p.m. July 4. The 20-minute show can be viewed from various spots around the waterfront, with the best spots at Burton Chace Park  and Fisherman’s Village.

Redondo Beach at Seaside Lagoon Gates open at 2:00pm; Fireworks begin at 9:00pm
