South Bay Beach Fun

Came across this Video on YouTube. Perhaps I found it so enjoyable as it speaks of our summer fun here at our South Bay beaches. But as we all know, we have plenty of days all through the year to enjoy the beach. There is no where like our community in Southern California. We really do have it all.

The Green Store lives on!

Well tomorrow being the August 31 the famous and historic “Green Store” should close for good, but Nancy Comaford, owner of The Green Store property, has announced that the iconic grocery store in Hermosa Beach will not be permanently closing its doors as initially reported. A new tenant is scheduled to take over the operation. Thank Goodness 22nd street would not be the same.

DEL AMO SHOPPING CENTER TO UNDERGO TRANSFORMATION

A 21 month project to rebuild the north end of the Del Amo Fashion Center is about to begin. According to Tim Magill, a partner in Hollywood based 5+ design, the project’s architect, the food court represents the most amazing transformation of the shopping center and will be a sneak peak of what the rest of it will look like once completed in the fall of 2015. Parts of the transformation will be complete this year in the food court area. The total costs for the entire mall revamp is expected to be at least $200M.

Homes Prices Going Up: Great time to Buy

According to the Beach Reporter, Southern California home prices have soared almost 29% over the prices reported in June of 2012.In the last 12 months, the median price of a home in the six county region of Southern California increased $85,000 to $385,000 from $300,000 in June of 2012. The price gains went up 20 percent in all counties according to DataQuick. DataQuick president John Walsh was clear in saying that he did not expect the pace to persist long. Low inventories are affecting sales in many Metro areas. The California Association of Realtors is saying that the statewide inventories increased to a 2.9 month supply in June, from a 2.6 months in May. Los Angeles county had the biggest increase followed by San Bernardino County.
